How We Make Money

CarCabin is free for readers. Operating costs are covered through affiliate commissions on services that car shoppers commonly use. This page explains every revenue source.

Affiliate commissions

When CarCabin links to a third-party service and you buy something, the third party may pay us a referral commission. Categories where we accept affiliate revenue:

  • Vehicle history report providers (such as EpicVIN and Carfax)
  • Auto insurance comparison platforms
  • Auto-loan refinance and pre-qualification tools
  • General retailers for accessories and parts (such as Amazon)

What we do not accept

  • Dealer sponsorships or paid placements in vehicle rankings
  • Manufacturer payments to favor a specific make, model, or trim
  • Sponsorship of CarCabin Scores or best-of categories

Editorial firewall

Affiliate revenue does not influence rankings, the CarCabin Score formula, or whether a vehicle appears on a best-of list. The formulas and underlying data sources are published on the methodology page so you can reproduce the rankings yourself.

Disclosure

Articles that contain affiliate links carry an inline disclosure near the link. Pricing and product availability with affiliate partners may change at any time. CarCabin earns nothing until you complete a qualifying transaction with the partner.
